Sandal ist eine Produktfamilie aus stapelbaren Stühlen und Sesseln, Tischen und Hockern. Mit Blick auf die LCW-Serie von Charles und Ray Eames aus den 1940er-Jahren begibt sich diese Kollektion auf die Spuren des universalen Schemas der Wirbeltiere, deren Extremitäten vom Rückgrat abgehen und gehalten werden. Dem Schema folgend, prägen die einzelnen Stücke der Kollektion in variierender Anordnung der Aluminiumgestelle individuelle Merkmale aus. Sitze, Lehnen und Platten sind als flächige Elemente auf den Kreuzungspunkten dieser linearen Strukturen aus gebogenen Rechteckprofilen befestigt. Bei den Stühlen erweist sich dieses Schema auch insofern als vorteilhaft, als die zweifach geteilte Sitzfläche ein besonders ergonomisches Sitzen ermöglichen. Sitze und Lehnen aus integralem Polyurethanschaum geben den Stühlen und Sesseln eine straffe, aber bequeme Elastizität.

Sandal is a product family of stackable side chairs, easy chairs, tables, and stools. Inspired by Charles and Ray Eames’ LCW series from the 1940s, this collection pursues traces of the universal scheme of the vertebrates, whose extremities branch off from and are supported by the spine. Accordingly, the individual pieces of the collection are characterized by individual features with the aluminum frames in varied configurations. The seats, backrests, and tabletops are fixed as planar elements to the junctures of these linear structures of bent rectangular profiles. This system also proves to be advantageous for the chairs, because the two-part seat establishes a particularly ergonomic condition for sitting. The seats and backrests made of integral polyurethane foam give the side chairs and easy chairs a taut but comfortable elasticity.
