Sandal family, Alias (2010)



Sandal is a chair and table system characterised by a curved extruded aluminium structure. The chair, armchair and stool all have a padded body. The table comes in a range of different shapes and sizes.

The range of various typologies derives from the interplay of different aluminum frames. Surfaces are arranged upon the crossing points of these linear structures, becoming seat, rest or table top according to the respective furniture. Moreover, this scheme leads to a special feature of the chairs, the splitted and extra ergonomic seating. Keeping the Eames in reference, with this furniture family we like to trace the natural scheme of the vertebras, whose extremites are bound together with the backbone.
