Flexibel genug, um sowohl an runden wie eckigen, an hoch- und querformatigen Spiegeln montiert zu werden, ist ihre freie Montage an der Wand ebenso möglich wie eine Abhängung von der Decke.

„Everyone gets to be a star / whether it’s curvy or straight / or under a shining ceiling / even in a frame / check out the details …“: die Bildunterschriften der ersten Präsentation aus dem Jahr 2013 betonen die Assoziation zur einschlägigen Spiegelbeleuchtung in den Garderoben am Theater, beim Film und im Kabarett. Allstars soll jedem erlauben, sich wie ein Star zu fühlen. Eine Kombination vieler einzelner, schwacher und direkter Lichtquellen sorgt für die gleichmäßige, schattenfreie und helle Ausleuchtung des Gesichts, ohne zu blenden.

Obwohl nun LEDs und keine Glühbirnen mehr strahlen, streben die eiförmigen Leuchtkörper nach einer Balance aus nostalgischer Rückschau und futuristischer Eleganz, wie sie sich oft in den raffinierten, marketing-geleiteten Produkten der Kosmetik wiederspiegelt.

Verbunden wird die Lichterkette durch knochenförmige, farbige oder durchsichtige Kunststoffglieder, die auch das Kabel aufnehmen, mit dem die einzelnen Lichtquellen versorgt werden. Gibt die Wölbung den einzelnen Elementen die nötige Steifigkeit, so ermöglicht die Kettenstruktur der Leuchte, die unterschiedlichsten Formate zu umrahmen. The lights are connected into a chain by bone-shaped, colored or transparent plastic links that also incorporate and conceal the wiring used to supply power to the individual light sources. While the curvature of the individual elements gives them the needed rigidity, the fixture’s chain structure enables it to frame all sorts of shapes.
